Daniel B. Wind, assistant operations manager
I began my
traineeship with J. Lauritzen in August 2008 and spent my first year with
Lauritzen Bulkers' chartering department and are now working in
Lauritzen Kosan's operations department, which I also find very
exciting.
I get to operate a number of vessels on my own and take care of my own
clients. Mainly I make sure that our vessels always are sailing and heading
for the right locations all over the world and above all within schedule.
My daily routines include keeping clients updated, claiming payment and
ensuring vessel performance.
I enjoy the close contact I have as operator to various people on a
day-to-day basis, the cooperation with my colleagues, business control,
technicians and captains and external brokers, agents, and charterers.
Each day brings different challenges and my shipping knowledge and
experience are expanding all the time.
From a personal view point it is very important that I can use my
theoretical knowledge in connection with my on-the-job-training and to feel
the amount of responsibility given - is great.
